Graduate students, or those who are in the final years of their college educations, would usually be required to submit a difficult paper as part of their finishing requirements; thesis papers for undergraduates and a dissertation for those who are taking their Master’s degree education. Being a very important paper, the margin for error in doing them becomes quite smaller. Students must ensure that they do well in their dissertation, so that there would be no hitches before they graduate or finish.
Of course, no matter how much a student may choose to focus on their thesis papers, they can’t help but commit some mistakes in them. Some of these errors may be chalked up to carelessness, while some maybe because they did not really know what to do with the work.
To help students be able to pass their dissertations, thesis papers, and other very important academic work, here are some reminders that they should keep in mind about their work:
1. Always check for errors in grammar and typing – In the rush to be able to finish the difficult thesis papers or dissertations, some students forget to check for grammar and typographical errors. This leads to the hard work being wasted due to deductions for wrong spelling and grammar use. Professors view errors in grammar and typing as signs of sloppy work and give corresponding deductions for it.
2. Always follow class conventions, instructions and guidelines - Some teachers are very strict about guidelines in the format of the dissertation. Format includes font sizes and styles, and even margin sizes. Avoid deductions by making sure the paper follows the rules set by the instructor.
3. Ensure clarity of printouts – The thesis papers would be useless if it becomes unreadable by those who check them. Students should ensure that their submissions are legible.
