The children at First United Methodist Church are involved in a mission program that deserves a BIG tip of the hat! They are purchasing soccer balls for youth in South Africa. When they learned the children made balls of knotted bundles of banana leaves or empty shell casings, they started the project, and for $8.95, a soccer ball and a new book can be placed in the hands of a child in South Africa. If you are interested in joining the children in this project, you can get more information by calling the church at 362-2891. Sibyl Bynum enjoyed attending a reunion of the Bynum family, descendants of the late Jasper and Beulah Bynum.
