Alabama union endorses Obama, Figures, Baxley
MONTGOMERY — The Alabama AFL-CIO has endorsed Democrats Barack Obama for president, Vivian Davis Figures for the U.S. Senate, and Lucy Baxley for president of the Public Service Commission.
Union President Stewart Burkhalter announced the endorsements Friday after the group wrapped up a meeting in Montgomery.
The Alabama AFL-CIO also endorsed Democrats Deborah Bell Paseur for justice of the Alabama Supreme Court and Clyde Jones and Aimee Cobb Smith for the Court of Criminal Appeals.
