Store owners charged in selling fake goods
MONTGOMERY — The co-owners of a Montgomery business were arrested Tuesday afternoon after being charged with selling counterfeit merchandise.
Police said Keamogetse Taukobong and Cynthia King, both 48, were taken in custody in connection with search warrants issued July 31 at D&C Urban Wear. Police Lt. Keith Barnett said officers seized an estimated $145,000 in bogus goods.
Both were charged with theft of trademark and placed in the county jail under $30,000 bond each.
Another business, Platinum Magic 101, also was searched July 31.
