Talladega and St. Clair counties missed the brunt of the severe weather system that produced deadly tornadoes in the northern part of the state.Steve Dover, public information officer for the Talladega County Emergency Management Agency, said he had heard of no injuries or any kind of serious damage as of noon Wednesday.
I had a few very minor reports come in, Dover said. An apartment complex in Childersburg had some vinyl siding that was damaged slightly. We also had a report of some flooding on 13th Street in Childersburg, but that was cleared up quickly.
A few trees in the county were downed in the storm. Dover said, A tree was down over New County Line Road near the Talladega and Coosa County line, but the County Line Volunteer Fire Department quickly took care of it.
Dover also reported mud on the roadway of Alabama 148 near mile marker 2 caused some travel problems, but county workers cleared it up, allowing traffic to flow smoothly again.
The St. Clair County EMA reported even less damage and no injuries from the storms. Some trees were down, but none appeared to cause any structure damage or block any roadways, according to the EMA.
