TALLADEGA COUNTY – The Sheriff’s Department has obtained a warrant and is seeking a man believed to be the shooter in a July 12 assault on Ridge Lane.Sheriff’s Department Chief Investigator Capt. Mike Hubbard said Glen Fredrick Taylor, of 968 Garrett Road, Sylacauga, is the suspect in the shooting. The charge on the warrant is assault in the first degree.
The shooting victim suffered wounds to the head and chest from a shotgun blast between 1:16 and 1:22 a.m. Deputies found the victim in the front yard of his residence at 529 Ridge Lane.
Hubbard said he heard the victim would be OK in the last report he received about his condition. The victim was transported to Citizens Baptist Medical Center in Talladega and later on to a Birmingham-area hospital after the shooting.
The Sheriff’s Department is also investigating an incident involving a stolen car that was later found burned.
Hubbard said the 1999 four-door Ford Countour was reported stolen on the morning of Saturday, July 26, from a residence in the 3000 block of Stemley Road, Talladega. It was found burned on Sunday afternoon in the 57000 block of Alabama 77 South in Talladega.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
