BOSTICK

PIEDMONT — Services for Kenneth Wayne Bostick, 59, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Maddox officiating. Burial will follow at Piedmont Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 - 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Bostick died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joyce Burrows Bostick; one son, Shane Bostick (Missie), of Piedmont; one daughter, Sheila Horne, of Piedmont; three grandchildren, Wade Horne, Haley Bostick and Carson Bostick; one aunt, Dean Smart (Tom), of Piedmont; and numerous cousins.

Pallbearers will be Charles Burrows, Jeremy Christopher, Shane Bostick, Larry Reynolds, Harold Martin and Buddy Maddox. Mr. Bostick was a native and lifelong resident of Piedmont. He was a disabled U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He held the rank of sergeant with Company A, 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry, 4th Infantry Division. He was the recipient of the purple heart, two bronze stars with oak leaf clusters and two army commendation medals. He was a former employee of the Anniston Army Depot.

CORN

ANNISTON — Violet Reaves Corn, 81, formerly of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston. Mrs. Corn was born February 20, 1927 in Rome, Georgia, the daughter of the late Monroe Corn and the late Sally Conine Corn. Mrs. Corn was retired from Golden City Hosiery Mill where she worked as a spinner and was of the Baptist faith. She had a love of flowers and enjoyed gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Seals L. Corn Sr.; sons, William H. "Billy" Corn, and Seals "Butch" Corn Jr. and brother, Delbert Reeves.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Donnie Smith, of Carrollton; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Anita Corn, of Carrollton, and Phillip and Wanda Corn, of Weaver; loving sister, Pansey Burney, of Anniston; eight grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008, from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Pastor Jackie Bentley officiating. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Saturday, July 5, 2008 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com. HEFLIN — Funeral services for Ola Mae Phillips Dryden, 91, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Dryden Funeral Chapel. Visitation from 9-11 Friday at the funeral home. Dryden Funeral Home "Caring Service Since 1962." 256-463-2287

HANSON

JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for Talmadge Lee "Tal" Hanson, 83, will be at 2 p.m. today, July 3, 2008, in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Terry Bostick officiating. Burial will follow in the Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends today from 12 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Hanson died on Monday at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Evangeline Hanson, of Jacksonville; sons, Lee Hanson and his wife, Beth, of Cummings, Ga. and Martin Hanson and his wife, Brenda, of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Hanson Klanac and her husband, David, Kali Amanda Hanson, Justin Martin Hanson and Katlyn Anne Hanson.

Pallbearers will be nephews. Mr. Hanson was a native of Ranburne and had lived in Calhoun County for the past 67 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church Oxford and was retired from Anniston Army Depot as a tank inspector. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. SIMS

OLD DAVIS TOWN — Funeral services for Elloweeze Sims, 79, will be at 2 p.m. today, July 3, 2008, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Mike Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow in Iron City Community Cemetery. Mrs. Sims died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Cleburne County Nursing Home.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Mattox of Milton, Fla. and Lesa Cotton, of Anniston; four sons, Jimmy Sims, of Delta, Ricky Sims, of Newell, Terry Sims, of Cedartown, Ga. and Ross Sims, of Old Davis Town; 10 grandchildren, Brandon Sims, Brian Sims, Jeremy Sims, Tim Sims, Chase Cotton, Lauren Cotton, Stephanie Price, Kristal Rutherford, Sheryl Pesnell and Katelyn Sims; 19 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Sims, Brian Sims, Jeremy Sims, Timothy Sims, Chase Cotton, Wesley Rutherford and Chad Pesnell. Mrs. Sims was a member of Iron City Baptist Church. She was retired from Anniston Sportswear. Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her husband Homer B. Sims. Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in charge of arrangements. (256) 236-3441

TUCKER

CENTRE — Funeral services for Mrs. Madolyn Tucker, 66, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
