THE REV. MARSHALL L. ALEXANDER STERRETT — Funeral services for The Rev. Marshall L. Alexander, 75, will be Sunday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. at Davis Chapel Church with the Rev. Charles Shaw, the Rev. Eugene Howard and the Rev. Kenneth Cook officiating. Interment will be in Lawley's Chapel Cemetery. The Rev. Alexander died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Jo L. Alexander; two sons, Greg Alexander and Gary Alexander; two daughters-in-law; three daughters, Teresa Bowers, Donna Hodge and Brenda Brasher; four sons-in-law; brother, Vernon Alexander; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 23, beginning at 6 p.m. at Davis Chapel Church. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the services. MARY L. BURNS TUSCALOOSA — Funeral service for Mary L. WILLIE FRANK GRIFFIN SR. MILLERVILLE — Funeral services for Mr. Willie Frank Griffin Sr., 86, is Feb. 23, at 11 a.m. at Clay County Funeral Home Chapel. Clay County Funeral Home will direct the services. BRENDA HAMILTON SYLACAUGA — Brenda Hamilton died Feb. 21, 2008 at her residence. Radney-Smith Funeral Home will announce arrangements. VINTURA HARRIS JACOBS GOODWATER — Funeral services for Mrs. Vintura Harris Jacobs, age 95, of Goodwater was Thursday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m. at Goodwater Baptist Church. the Rev. Joe Fain and the Rev. Brian Jacobs officiated. Burial followed in the Smyrna Primitive Baptist Cemetery. Mrs. Jacobs passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008 at Russell Medical Center. She was born on Aug. 13, 1912 in Goodwater to R.C. Harris and Pirl Harris. Mrs. Jacobs, along with her husband, owned and operated Jacobs Flowers and Growers in Goodwater for fifty years. She will be remembered for her floral arrangements in local churches. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret J. Pope of Jacksonville; son, Harold Jacobs (Gail) of Talladega; grandchildren, Chris Pope and Lee Pope of Atlanta, Ga., Brian Jacobs (Shelia) of Fort Worth, Texas, and Dana Stratton (Derrel) of Huntsville; great grandchildren, Allison, Benjamin, and Samuel Jacobs. Survivors are husband, Samuel Lee Poston; sons, Gordon (Erica) Radney of Tallahassee, FL, Kenneth Brown of Atlanta, Ga.; daughters, Vikki (Alpha) Henderson, Kimberly Brown, both of Tallahassee, FL; brother, Willie A. Radney of Talladega; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives. Sims Funeral Service will direct. PATRICIA ANN SWAIN LINCOLN — Services for Mrs. Patricia Ann Swain, 61, will be announced at a later date by Sims Funeral services. Mrs. Swain died Feb. 21, 2008 at Citizens BMC. DANNY J. THURMAN EUFAULA — Funeral services for Danny J. Thurman, age 56, formerly of Talladega, will be Friday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Talladega Funeral Home with the Rev. Ottis Graves officiating. Burial will follow at the Hill Crest Cemetery in Munford. Mr. Thurman passed away Feb. 19, 2008 at the Crowne Health Care Center in Eufaula. Survivors are one sister, Mary Ann Patterson of Eufaula; two brothers, James Thurman of Tuscaloosa and Clayton Thurman of Thorsby. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the services. JIMMIE WEIR BIRMINGHAM — Funeral services for Mr. Jimmie Weir, 67, is Feb. 23, at 25th Street Baptist Church. Mr. Weir died Feb. 18, 2008. Another quality service by Madden Funeral Home.
