ANNIE JOYCE GROCE-BARNES LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Funeral services for Sis. Annie Joyce Groce-Barnes, 63, will be Saturday, May 10, at 11 a.m. at Greater New Mount Carmel, 6001 S. Hoover, Los Angeles, Calif., 90044. Interment will be in Inglewood Park Cemetery, 720 E. Florence Ave., Inglewood, Calif., 90301. Sis. Barnes passed away April 29, 2008. JESSIE MAE GOODEN TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Mrs. Jessie Mae Gooden, 82, will be Thursday, May 8, at 3 p.m. at Usrey Brown-Service Funeral Home with Dr. Clyde Pettus and the Rev. David Holcombe officiating. Burial will be in Alpine Baptist Cemetery. Mrs. Gooden died Monday, May 5, 2008 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County, a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a retired employee of the Wehadkee Yarn Mills. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Millard Gooden; daughters, Angie Gooden and Monica Joy Sutherland; sons, Ronald Lynn Gooden, James Gooden and Kenneth Gene Gooden Sr. She is survived by a daughter, Sue (Jake) Thrower of Talladega; sons, Mitchell Ray "Mickey" (Wreatha) Gooden of Talladega; Joe Daniel (Stella) Gooden of Carrollton, Ga., Jerry Franklin (Dorothea) Gooden of Talladega, Timothy Millard Gooden of Springville, Kenneth Gene (Megan) Gooden Jr. of Sylacauga; daughter-in-law, Nancy Gooden of Talladega; 22 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 7, from 5-8 p.m. at Usrey. Pallbearers are Pete Thrower, Chris Thrower, Nicholas Haynes, J.J. Ingram, Jason Gooden, Manuel Gooden. Honorary pallbearers are Raymond Denney, Jimbo Williams, Damian Gooden, Mark Ruggs and Josh Gardner. Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.
