JEFF BILLINGSLEY

TUSCALOOSA – Michael Jeffery Billingsley, 48, of Tuscaloosa died May 7, 2008, at home. Private services will be held with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, in charge of arrangements.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy B. Billingsley; his sister, Dawn B. Dickerson; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Billingsley, Mr. Hester Lewis and Mrs. Bessie Mae Lewis Jarrett.

Survivors include his daughter, Amanda B. Acner of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and his mother and stepfather, Harry and Charlotte (Lewis) Mooradian of Jenson Beach, Fla. Jeff also leaves a host of aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him.

Jeff was born in Sylacauga. He graduated from Gurley High School and attended Jacksonville University. He was a 10-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He resided in Selma for 15 years before moving to Tuscaloosa. He was an employee of the VA Medical Center.

Honorary pallbearers are friends and co-workers of the VA Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

ARLO BLOCKER

SYLACAUGA – Graveside service for Arlo Blocker, 90, of Sylacauga will be Monday, May 12, 2008, at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Freddie Edwards officiating.

Mr. Blocker died May 10, 2008, at Coosa Valley Nursing Home.

Mr. Blocker was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Blocker.

He is survived by two sons, Sammy Blocker of Sylacauga and Carey Blocker of Gadsden; two stepdaughters, Pat McCain of Chattanooga and Brenda Abrams of Sylacauga; and a slew of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 11, 2008, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

EVA BELLE CAFFEE

TALLADEGA – Eva Belle Caffee, 85, passed away Friday, May 9, at Talladega Healthcare Center. Memorial service will be announced.

Evie was born in Flint, Mich., and has lived in Talladega since 1952. She worked as a nursing assistant at Citizens Hospital from 1959-1986, before retiring with 27 years of service. She did private duty nursing for several special people who needed “Evie’s” extra care and kindness. Miss Caffee was nominated and recognized for being an Outstanding Talladegan in the area of serving others in the nursing field in 2000.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Talladega, and a faithful member of the Martha Reese Sunday School Class until she became unable to attend.

Miss Caffee was preceded in death by her parents, William (Willie) Columbus Caffee and Huldah Drake Caffee Cook, Flint, Mich.; sisters, Dorothy Marsh and Betty June Hall; a brother, John Irving Caffee; and special friend, Angi Grissett of Talladega.

Survivors include a sister, Verna Marie Pulver of Lansing, Mich.; a brother, Howard (Nancy) Dean Caffee of Eagle, Mich.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Among her many Talladega friends who were family to Evie are: Martha Reese’s Sunday School Class, Lance and Liz Grissett, Jack and Lucy Hethcox, Ginny Sims, Sallie Faircloth and daughter Mary, Ola Churchill, Neal and Linda Rodgers, Kristin Keith, John Jernigan, Judy Williams, Alice Faye Shiver, her doctors and nursing staff at Talladega Healthcare Center.

Memorials may be made to the Angi Elizabeth Grissett Scholarship Fund at First Baptist Church, Talladega, or your favorite charity.

Usrey Brown-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

GENE GAFFORD

PELL CITY — Graveside service for Gene Gafford, 82, of Pell City will be Monday, May 12, at 2 p.m. in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Riverside.

Mr. Gafford died May 7, 2008.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lee Ann Gafford.

He is survived by two sons, Terry G. Bright and Virgle R. Bright; sister, Martha Gafford; three grandchildren, Michael Bright, Shane Bright and Emily Burns; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Michael Bright, Shane Bright, Kyle Bright, Gerald Burns, Wayne Brown and Billy Brown.

Visitation will be Monday from noon to 1 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City.

Kilgroe Funeral Home will direct the service.

SOLON DOUGLAS JAMES II

PELL CITY – Graveside service for Solon Douglas James II, 33, of Pell City will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in St. Clair Memorial Gardens with Father Sexton officiating.

Mr. James died Friday, May 9, 2008.

He is survived by his parents, Solon and Toni James of Pell City; sisters, Marta and Laureen James of Pell City; grandmother, Jean Marta of Cullman; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.

Usrey Funeral Home, LLC in Pell City will direct the service.

EVELYN MOSLEY

MUNFORD — Ms. Evelyn Mosley, 66, of Munford died Friday, May 9, 2008, at Citizens Baptist Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary in Talladega.

GEORGE ROBERTSON

VINCENT – George Robertson, 68, of 576 Mistletoe Lane, Vincent, died on Friday, May 9, 2008, at his residence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Community Funeral Home.
