BEN L. CARMAN JR.

ALEXANDER CITY — Graveside services for Mr. Ben L. Carman Jr., age 86, formerly of Talladega, will be Thursday, June 26, at 10 a.m. at the Pine Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Clyde Pettus officiating. Mr. Carman passed away June 23, 2008 at Bill Nichols State Veterans Home in Alexander City. Survivors are two sons, Dr. Richard L. Carman of Chelsea and Ben L. Carman III of Montana; one sister, Sherry Gage of Mt. Grove, MO; and one grandchild. Mr. Carman was a native of Mt. Grove, MO, and former resident of Talladega. He was a retired farmer and Veteran of the United States Army Air Force where he served in WWII. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the services.

ALLEN CRAIG CARTER

SYLACAUGA — Allen Craig Carter, 51, died June 23, 2008 in Utar County. Arrangements will be announced by Childersburg Mortuary.

BETTY RUTH EASLEY

TALLADEGA — Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Ruth Easley, age 73, of Talladega is Thursday June 26, 2008, 1 p.m. at Kingston Baptist Church, Alpine with burial to follow at Kingston Cemetery. Public viewing is Wednesday, June 25 from noon-8 p.m. Another quality service by The New Madden Funeral Home, 256-249-3815.

TALLADEGA — Mr. Daniel Glass, 83, died June 23, 2008 at University of Alabama Hospital. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will announce arrangements.

SYLACAUGA — Tina Grimes, 49, died June 23, 2008 at UAB. Radney-Smith Funeral Home will announce arrangements.

GEORGIA W. JOHNSON

SYLACAUGA — Georgia W. Johnson, 79, died June 24, 2008 at Brookwood Hospital. Radney-Smith Funeral Home will announce arrangements.

MATTHEW "MATT" LINER

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Matthew "Matt" Liner, 23, will be Thursday, June 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Bro. James Woodin officiating. Interment will be in Hillview Cemetery in Alexander City. Mr. Liner died June 23, 2008 at University of Alabama Hospital. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, the Rev. Pete Liner and Ted Childress. He is survived by a daughter, Carlee Liner of Childersburg; parents, Tony Childress and wife June of Sylacauga and Darrell Liner and wife Trish of Sycamore; grandparents, Billy Mask and wife Virginia of Sylacauga, Geraldine Liner of Sycamore and Elsbeth Childress of Sylacauga; sisters, Katie Liner, Stacey Ellison, Sarah Ellison, Emily Liner, Erin Liner and Abby Liner; brothers, B.J. Childress, Cody Childress, D.J. Ellison, Ricky Ellison and Joshua Liner. Visitation will be June 25, from 5-8 p.m. Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.

Pallbearers will be B.J. Childress, Cody Childress, Jason Whetstone, Chris Liner, D.J. Ellison and Ricky Ellison. Radney-Smith Funeral Home will direct the service.

DOROTHY LEE SALTER

SYLACAUGA — Dorothy Lee Salter, age 78, died June 23, 2008 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. Arrangements to be announced by Curtis and Son North Chapel.

LAURA WHITSON

REFORM — Funeral services for Ms. Laura Whitson, 81, formerly of Talladega, will be Thursday, June 26, at 11 a.m. at Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Brenda Williams officiating. Burial will be in Lane Chapel Church Cemetery, Talladega. Ms. Whitson died June 19, 2008 at DCH Health System. She was educated in the Talladega County School System; worked as a presser in Quality Laundry. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, seven brothers and four sisters. She is survived by sons, Milton Whitson of Talladega and David Whitson of Seattle, WA; and sisters, Ida M. Whitson, Mattie Jordan both of Talladega and Nellie M. Hearn of Chicago, IL. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the services.
