DEAN VAUGHN ALLEN

ALPINE — Funeral service for Mrs. Dean Vaughn Allen, 99, will be Thursday, July 17, at 2 p.m. at Usrey Chapel, Talladega with John Battle officiating. Burial will be at Laniers Cemetery. Mrs. Allen died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Citizens BMC, Talladega. She was a native and lifelong resident of Alpine, member of Cartersville Baptist Church, retired from AIDB and a member of Laniers Home Demonstration Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Allen; daughter, Marie Shaw; sister, Dorothy Searcy; brother, William Vaughn; parents, Andrew and Angie Vaughn; and step-mother, Julia Vaughn. Survivors are a son, Ralph "Jake" Allen of Talladega; sisters, Gusta Carey of Birmingham and Evelyn Hubbard of Douglasville, Ga.; granddaughter, Cindy Pennington of Talladega; grandson, Bryan Allen of Talladega; great-grandsons, Nicholas Pennington and Lucas Pennington both of Talladega.

Pallbearers are Bryan Allen, Mark Allen, Scott Allen, Mitch Allen, Adam Pennington, Tim Black, Nicholas Pennington and Lucas Pennington. Honorary pallbearers are the staff at Sunset Inn, Ray Miller, John Allen, Paul Blankenship and George Allen. Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.

MARY WEST DAVIS

BROOKS, Ga. — Mary West Davis, age 79, formerly of Pell City, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008. Graveside services were held Tuesday at Valley Hill Cemetery in Pell City with the Rev. Vint Arnold officiating. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by husband, Dwight "Byrd" Davis; parents, Dee and Rosa Lee West; sister, Jack Owen; and brother, Bob West. She is survived by daughter, Donna (David) Richardson of Brooks, Ga.; son, Barry (Debra) Davis of Douglasville, Ga.; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jean Owen of Pell City; and brothers-in-law, Coy Davis of Gadsden and Hubert Owen of Pell City.

ELOISE BISHOP FULMER

MOODY — Funeral service for Mrs. Eloise Bishop Fulmer, 76, is July 19, at 11 a.m. at Usrey Chapel, Pell City. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City will direct.

PELL CITY — Mrs. Frances M. Hargrove, 51, died July 15, 2008 at St. Vincent's East Hospital. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will announce arrangements.

VIOLA R. HATCHER

TALLADEGA — Graveside service for Viola R. Hatcher, 83, will be Thursday, July 17, at Midway Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Max Briggs officiating. Mrs. Hatcher died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Milton Hatcher. She is survived by her children, Peggy and Steve Turner of Pell City, Donna Edmiston of Talladega, Carl Alexander of Birmingham and Rickey Hatcher of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Brian, Jessica, April and Brandon; three great grandchildren, Ethan, Riley, and Parker; nieces and nephew, Barbara Ann and Phillip Hale and Lori.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Heart Association and Central Baptist Church. Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home will direct the service.

IDELLA WILLIAMS JOHNSON

CHILDERSBURG — Funeral services for Mrs. Idella Williams Johnson, 83, formerly of Childersburg, will be Friday, July 18, at 2 p.m. from the Enon Baptist Church in Childersburg with Pastor Calvin Cunningham officiating. Mrs. Johnson died July 10, 2008 at Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS.

Survivors include four daughters, Linda Pettis, Childersburg, Irene Martin, McComb, MS, Doris Johnson, Paramount, Calif., Hazel Smith, Cerritos, Calif.; three sons, Eddie (Bebie) Johnson Jr., Paramount, Calif., Jack (Sophia) Johnson, Lakewood, Calif., David (Gwen) Johnson, Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Hellon Ellis and Marion Luvada Bellinger, Rahway, NJ; 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Childersburg Mortuary will direct the services.

WILLIE BELL WHITE

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Mrs. Willie Bell White, 77, formerly of Talladega, died July 16, 2008 at Desert Springs Hospital, Las Vegas, NV. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will announce arrangements.
