CHARLES CUPP JR.MUNFORD — Funeral services for Mr. Charles Cupp, Jr., 77, of Munford, will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 22, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with the Rev. John Waites officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Cupp passed away Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Sanders and husband Cliff of Munford; four sons, Robert Cupp and wife Sara of Columbus, Ga., Shane Reaves and wife Cibil of Calhoun, Ga., Charlie Cupp and wife Jennifer of Lenlock, and John Andrew Cupp of Munford; one sister, Lovace Whirley of Virginia; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Cupp is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie C. and Carren C. Cupp; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Cupp; two sisters, Grace Winn and Catherine Baggett; and one brother, Lawrence Cupp.
Pallbearers will be Lawrence Cupp Jr., Kenneth Carter, Roy Crow, John Cupp, Neil Nelson, and Phillip Haynes. Mr. Cupp was a native of Calhoun County and a resident of Munford and of the Baptist faith. He retired after many years of well digging for home well systems. CHICAGO, IL — Ethel Beatrice Glenn of Chicago, Illinois, formerly of Goodwater, died July 15, 2008. She was born April 7, 1938, in Coosa County. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Percy and Wilma Hill Glenn; and a brother. Graveside services will be at Wednesday, July 23, at 1 p.m. at the Macedonia Cemetery, Goodwater. Words of comfort will be offered by the Rev. John R. Leonard.

BIRMINGHAM — Betty Joyce Cain Mills, 78, died July 18, 2008. Mrs. Mills, a native of Madison, Ala. had lived in Birmingham since 1951. A daughter of the late John Slaughter Cain and Lucille Wade Cain, she was the widow of Rabun Sanders Mills.
Survivors include her son John Rabun Mills and his wife Judy Boyd Mills of Mt. Dora, Fla., her daughter Pamela Susan Mills, her granddaughters Molly Summers Terrell and Laura Catherine Mills, and her sister Shirley Cain Wilson. Mrs. Mills, a member of the Canterbury United Methodist Church, attended the University of Alabama. She was a member of First Families of Alabama, First Families of Tennessee Valley, Daughters of the American The Revolution and United Daughters of the Confederacy. Much pleasure was brought to her by her friendships in the Alpha Chi Omega Lunch Group, Stoney Ridge Garden Club and several bridge groups. PELL CITY — Funeral service for Mr. James Wesley Savage, 46, will be Tuesday, July 22, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Zane Smith officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens. Mr. Savage died Saturday, July 19, 2008 in Pell City. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where he served as soundboard tech, youth director, choir member and assistant Bible drill teacher. He was a member of the Pell City Players. He was a loving father and son. Survivors are daughters, Caitlin Savage and Shelby Savage both of Pell City; mother, Jackie Savage of Pell City; sister, Dianne Spoon of Pell City; several uncles, aunts and cousins.

MOBILE — Betty Curtis Stacey was born Sept. 2, 1938 to Rudolph Curtis and Nancy Johns. She was born in Sylacauga and a longtime resident of Mobile. She departed this life on Friday, July 18, 2008 at a local hospital. She provided loving care to her residents at her assisted living home, Stacey's Manor, for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Charles W. Stacey; by her father, Rudolph Curtis; and her aunt, Annie Vickers. She is survived by her mother, Nancy Johns Brooks of Metter, Ga.; and one son, Charles W. Stacey Jr. of Mobile; and one daughter, Dana (Michael) Fadalla; two sisters, Etoye (Earl) Rigdon of Metter, Ga., and Debra Brooks Patronas of Mobile; and five precious grandchildren she adored, Wesley Stacey, Leah Stacey, Olivia Fadalla, Emily Fadalla and Lauren Fadalla; nephews, Jason Rigdon and Phillip Patronas Jr.; her nieces, Carla Pattillo, Amanda Nobles, Stormy Patronas and Avian Lee; and a host of several relatives and friends including her loving lifelong friend, Mrs. Katherine Key.
