RUTH AUTREY

FLORIDA — Graveside services for Ruth Autrey, 85, will be at 10:30 am in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, So., Hoover, Ala. Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home Memorial Gardens directing.

MARY JO CARLISLE

ASHVILLE — Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jo Carlisle, 84, will be Friday, August 1 at 10am at Macedonia Baptist Church. Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, will direct the service.

JAMES T. "JIM" FUNDERBURG

PELL CITY — James T. "Jim" Funderburg, passed away Sunday, July 27th, 2008. At the time of his death he was a resident of Pell City, Alabama, but for many years he lived in the East Lake community of Birmingham. He worked at Hayes Aircraft and was a long-term member of Ruhama Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, and his wife, Edith Avery Funderburg, and is survived by his five children, Betty Marvel, Tom Funderburg (Pattie), Noah Funderburg (Mary), Audrey West, and Connie Brigman (Chris), 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2008 at Coosa Valley Baptist Church. Visitation at Kilgroe Funeral Home, Pell City, Thursday, July 31, 2008 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Pell City Senior Citizens Activity Center. Kilgroe Funeral Home, Pell City, will direct the services.

VERA DORIS GILLIAND

OHATCHEE — Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Doris Gilliand, 64, will be Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Usrey Chapel, Pell City with the Rev. Gerald Clark and the Rev. William Thomas officiating. Mrs. Gilliand died Monday, July 21, 2008 in Eastaboga. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Eugene Rich. She attended Cold Water Congregational Holiness Church and she enjoyed sitting with the elderly. She is survived by her husband, Joe Gilliand, Jr. of Ohatchee; sons, Raymond Rich, Jr. of Leeds, Kenneth Ray Rich of Ohatchee, Charles Anthony (Amy) Rich of Moody; stepdaughters, Tammie (Chuck) Hardy of LaGrange, Ga., Sandra (Mike) Sciacca of Pace, FL; sisters, Gladys (Foley) Rich of Pell City, Sue (Harold) Clayburn of Ohatchee, Ann (Charlie) Jackson of Oxford; brothers, Everett Ledbetter of Ohatchee, William Ledbetter of Canon City, CO, Gerald (Shelby) Ledbetter, Ga., Earl Ledbetter of Oxford, David (Ranna) Ledbetter of Weaver, Leland (Cheryl) Ledbetter of Oxford, Dennis Ledbetter of Oxford; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City will direct.

FANNIE BELL JONES

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Fannie Bell Jones, 92, formerly of Talladega, passed away Wednesday, July 30. Arrangements will be announced by Talladega Funeral Home.

SYLACAUGA — Johnny Wayne Lovett, 47, died July 30 at Brookwood Medical Center. Arrangements will be made by Radney-Smith Funeral Home.

MARK T. MCCLUNEY

LINCOLN — Mr. Mark T. McCluney, 40, died Tuesday at St. Vincent's Hospital. Sims Funeral Service will announce arrangements.

MAMIE LUCILLE HUNSUCKER TURNER

PELL CITY — Mamie Lucille Hunsucker Turner, age 85, wife of the late James W. Turner, went home Sunday, July 27, 2008. She was born on January 19, 1923, in Bogachitta, Mississippi. She faithfully served the Lord and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by two children, daughter, Kathryn Turner Carroll and son, James F. (Beverly) Turner. Her surviving siblings are Raymond Hunsucker of Atlanta, Georgia, Richard Hunsucker of Thomasville, Georgia and Virginia H. Smith of New Orleans, Louisiana. She was blessed with nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. We rejoice in knowing that she is resting in the arms of Jesus. Services will be at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City, Alabama at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2008. Kilgroe Funeral Home, Pell City, will direct the services.

BRENT — Mr. Tommie Weed, 55, formerly of Lincoln, died Wednesday at Carraway Hospital. Arrangements will be announced by Sims Funeral Service.
