DONALD "BIG JACK" MCGREGOR
SYLACAUGA - Funeral services for Donald "Big Jack" McGregor, 57, will be held on Monday, at 1:00 p.m., at the Friendship Baptist Church in Talladega Springs. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Larry Tuck officiating.

Mr. McGregor passed on August 13, 2008 at Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Sylacauga.

He is survived by two daughters, Sharron Kidd and Felicia Wallace, both of Sylacauga, Ala.; three sons, James McGregor, of Wilsonville, Ala., William McGregor, of Talladega Springs, Ala. and Gannitte McGregor, of Atlanta, Ga.; 8 grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Flower bearers will be nieces and friends of the family.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, noon to 8 p.m. at Community Funeral Home.

Community Funeral Home will direct the service.

WILLIAM THOMAS "TOMMY" TICE

SYLACAUGA- Funeral service for William Thomas "Tommy" Tice, 42, will be Monday, August 18 at 2 p.m. at Curtis & Son North Chapel with Dr. Wayne McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Tice died Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Coosa Valley Medical Center.

Mr. Tice was semi-retired. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He was a member of Red Hill Hunting Club. He loved The Lord, family and the great outdoors and was a native of Sylacauga.

He is survived by wife, Melinda Tice of Sylacauga; sons, William T. Tice Jr., of Sylacauga; Abbott "Cole" Tice of Sylacauga; daughter, Victoria "Tori" L. Tice of Sylacauga; brother, Phillip Scott Tice of Sylacauga; sisters, Janice Ruth Tice of Houston, Texas; Sherita Gayle Tice of Knoxville, Tenn.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 17 from 5-8 p.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Frank Brown, Kenny Watson, Rick Nichols, Mike Holmes, Joel Holmes, and Gene Ingram.

Curtis and Son North Chapel will direct the service.

SHIRLEY GARRETTE

SYCAMORE- Shirley Garrette, 70, of 111 E. Valley Road, died Saturday at her residence.

Arrangements to be announced by Community Funeral Home.

DELORES CHAFFIN TERRELL

ALEXANDER CITY- Funeral services for Delores Chaffin Terrell, 81, of Alexander City will be held Monday, August 18, at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel in Childersburg with Brother Clarence Denney officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Terrell died Friday, August 15, 2008 at her residence.

She worked at Beaunit Mills for more than 20 years and was a member of Cornerstone Church of Christ. She loved to crochet and make afghans for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She loved her church, family, birds, flowers and sports, especially Auburn football and the Atlanta Braves and Childersburg Tigers baseball.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John A. and Christine Chaffin and her sister, Martha Gayle Stokes.

Mrs. Terrell is survived by one son, Eddie Slaten (Dianne) of Childersburg; one daughter, Brenda Thompson (Eric) of Alexander City; one brother, Lowell Chaffin (Jennie) of Holly Pond; four sisters, Lou Webster of Sylacauga, Dorothy Willingham of Decatur, Bettye Carpenter (J.C.) of Childersburg, Jo Anne Hesson of Memphis, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Tracey Jones (Rick) of Nashville, Ga., Scott Carlisle of Alexander City; LeAnne Carlisle of Alexander City, Chad Slaten (Karen) of Childersburg, Tonya Cronan (James) of Tuscaloosa; 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 17 from 5-8 p.m.

The family will accept flowers or donations to Cornerstone Church of Christ in Childersburg.

Pallbearers will be Scott Carlisle, Chad Slaten, Brandon Gilliland, Ron Webster, David Carpenter, Johnny Webster, Jimmie Webster, Steve Carpenter and Tim Willingham.

Honorary pallbearers will be J.C. Carpenter, Oscar Thompson, Wallace Haisten, Mickey Long, Gene Welch, Ray Gardner, Bud Kissic and Steve Howell.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the services.

KATE M. PRATER PRICE

SYLACAUGA- Funeral services for Kate M. Prater Price, 77, of Sylacauga will be held Sunday, August 17 at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel with the Rev. Bill Brown, the Rev. Charles Sims and the Rev. Carl Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery.

Mrs. Price died Friday, August 15, 2008 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.

She worked for 38 years with the Alabama Forestry Commission. She was a member of the Unity Presbyterian Church and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and was a volunteer at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She loved helping others and taking care of her family, friends and the whole community. She will be greatly missed and always greatly loved. She was a rock that we all rested upon.

Mrs. Price is survived by her husband, Gerald Truett Price of Sylacauga; two daughters, Vickie Lynn Culberson (Charles) of Prattville and Susan Wheeler (William) of LaGrange, Ga.; one son, Trudon Price (Jan) of Smith; two sisters-in-law, Lilla Mae Rice of Valdosta, Ga. and Lillian Prater of Weogufka; six grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

The family received friends Saturday, August 16.

Pallbearers will be Barry Curtis, Jerry Castleberry, Kay Wilson, Shaddix Murphy, Jimmy Holmes, Darrell Martin and Jaddy McDaniel.

BILLY JUSTICE HOUSCH

SUMMERVILLE, GA.- Mr. Billy Justice Housch, age 75 of Knox Street, Summerville, passed away Friday, August 15, 2008 in Emory University Hospital. His parents, Milton and Senada Housch, preceded Mr. Housch in death. Mr. Housch was born in Chattanooga County (Summerville), Ga. on August 27, 1932 and was a life-long resident of the county. He graduated from Summerville High School (class of 1949), faithfully served in the United States Army, and then worked for Riegel Textile Company—where he retired after 42 years of service. During his time at Riegel, he worked on the farm, planted trees and then quickly moved in the office area working in the computer (data processing) department.

Mr. Housch was a life-long member of Trion United Methodist Church where he faithfully served in a variety of ministry areas and was a member of the Men’s Club.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wyndoleen Elizabeth (Keith) Housch of Summerville, Ga.; son, Andy Housch and wife Tracy of Sylacauga; daughter, Sandy Mallicoat and husband Jimmy of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Justin Mallicoat, Kristen Housch, Keri Mallicoat and Stephanie Housch; brother, Bob Housch of Summerville; sisters, Mary Smith and husband Donald of Ila, Ga. and Martha Gilmer and husband Emory (Bo) of Summerville, Ga. and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 17, 2008 at 2 p.m. EST, 1 p.m. CST from the Trion United Methodist Church with Rev. Art Graves, Rev. David Autry and Rob Pierce officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Housch did lie-in-state Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family received friends from 5:30 until 8 p.m. EST, 4:30 to 7 p.m. CST. Mr. Housch will also lie-in-state at the Trion United Methodist Church on Sunday, August 17, 2008 from 1 until 2 p.m. EST, noon until 1 p.m. CST.

Pallbearers will be Barry Dunaway, David Snow, Bobby Hannah, Mike Kingsmore, Mike Stover, David Messer, Lee Copeland, Greg Luke and Randy Odonell. These are asked to assemble at the church by 12:30 p.m. EST on Sunday.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Ingle, Hayward Hunter, Bill Worsham, Allen Green, Ozella Freeman, Ruth Grimes, Kathy Grimes, Joe Hood, Lamar Turner, Joe Cook, 1949 Class of Chattanooga High School, Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class and the Methodist Men’s Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all donations be made to the Trion United Methodist Church (building fund or special fund).

Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Billy Justice Housch, who passed away on Friday.
