NIA SHALITA ALLOWAY

MONTGOMERY — Funeral services for Nia Shalita Alloway, 34, formerly of Talladega, will be Saturday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. at Rushing Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence Woodward and the Rev. Jesse Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in Embry Family Cemetery, Talladega. Mrs. Alloway will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to service. Mrs. Alloway died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 at University of Alabama Hospital. She was a 1992 graduate of G.W. Carver High School, Montgomery and attended Troy State University. She was a customer service representative for Alabama Power Company and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Donnell (Elizabeth) Cunningham; grandfather, Theodore Swain Sr.; one uncle and five aunts. Survivors are her husband, Courtney Alloway of Montgomery; daughters, Alia Alloway and Caylee Alloway both of Montgomery; father, Theodore Swain Jr. of Montgomery; mother, Janice Cunningham Swain of Montgomery; sister, Shayla Swain of Montgomery; father-in-law, James Alloway of Montgomery; mother-in-law, Annie Alloway of Montgomery; and grandmother, Almeta Swain of Talladega. Visitation will be Nov. 14, from 5-6 p.m. at Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary Chapel. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the services.

DEBRA ALEXIS NICOLE BEVELS

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Debra Alexis Nicole Bevels, 3 months, will be Friday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with the Rev. Robert Ingram officiating. Interment will be Stewartville Church of God Cemetery. The infant died Nov. 12, 2008 at Children's Hospital of Alabama. Survivors are her mother, Crystal Bevels; father, Jason Butler; brother, Brandon Bevels; grandfather, Wade Ingram; grandmother, Elizabeth Bevels; great grandmother, Margie Isabell; great grandfather, Travis Isabell; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 14, from 10-11 a.m. Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.

Pallbearers will be Derric Bevels, Michael Bevels, Randy Pogue and William Bevels Jr. Radney-Smith Funeral Home will direct the service.

LEE EDWARD "BOGGIE" BICE

PELL CITY — Funeral services for Lee Edward "Boggie" Bice, 78, will be Saturday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. at Kilgroe Chapel. Interment will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens. Mr. Bice died Nov. 12, 2008. Survivors are his wife, Violet Bice; two daughters, Linda (Roger) Carreker and Judy Molt (Len Welsch); sister, Billie Jean Isbell; three grandchildren, Shaun Molt, Amy Carreker, Jennifer Carreker (Bret) Houk; two great grandchildren, Madeline Houk and Harrison Houk. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 14, from 5:30-9 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the services.

ALLUIE CARGLE

SYLACAUGA — Funeral services for Alluie Cargle, 90, will be at on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Star of Bethlehem Church in Wilsonville. the Rev. Donald Cohill officiating. the Rev. Larry Truss eulogist. Burial will be in the Wilsonville Community Cemetery. Mrs. Cargle passed on Nov. 11, 2008 at Sylacauga Healthcare Center in Sylacauga. She is survived by daughter, Barbara Anderson of Childersburg; son, Clarence Oden Jr. of Childersburg; four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Flower bearers will be friends of the family.

Pallbearers will be Byron Oden, Quincy Oden, Michah Oden, Warren Jackson, Meagal Bates, Jacob Robinson, Mario Brunache and Byron McGhee. Community Funeral Home will direct the service.

JOANN CRADDOCK

SYLACAUGA — Mrs. JoAnn Craddock, age 73, passed away at her residence in Sylacauga Nov. 13, 2008. Curtis and Son Funeral Home will announce arrangements.

MONTGOMERY — Mrs. Margaret Gilliland, age 77, passed away at Crown Healthcare in Montgomery Nov. 12, 2008. Curtis and Son Funeral Home will announce arrangements.

SYLACAUGA — Word Hodges, 78, died Nov. 13, 2008. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will announce arrangements.

WILLIAM BRADY JONES

CHILDERSBURG — Funeral service for William Brady Jones, 89, will be Saturday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with the Rev. Derrick Ousley officiating. Interment will be in Chestnut Creek Cemetery, Chilton County. Mr. Jones died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. Mr. Jones served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Survivors are his wife, Geanie G. Jones of Childersburg; daughter, Brenda Jones Ousley and husband Jerry of Sylacauga; son, Sidney D. Jones and wife, Donna of Ashville; grandchildren, Clay Ousley, Derrick Ousley and wife Dawn, Kiley Phillips, Sydni Cherry and husband Mike and Luke Jones; and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 14, from 5-8 p.m. Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com. Radney-Smith Funeral Home will direct the service.

GERTRUDE GURLEY INEZ McCLINTOCK

OXFORD — Services for Gertrude Gurley Inez McClintock, 83, of Oxford, and Cocoa Beach, FL will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel, Oxford with the Rev. Randy Huddleston officiating. Burial will follow at Eulaton First Baptist Church with Miller Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends from 4-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. McClintock died at Stringfellow Hospital on Nov. 10, 2008 in Anniston after an extended illness.

Survivors include a son, Darius G. McClintock and his wife Gail of Gilbert, Ariz.; a daughter, Deborah J. McClintock Archer and her husband Steve of Seminole, Fla.; sister, Polly Williams of Talladega; grandson, Matthew Justin McClintock of Brandon, Fla.; as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Mrs. McClintock was preceded in death by her parents, Rosia and John Gurley of Clay County; her husband, Willie Neal McClintock of Oxford.

Pallbearers will be Ross Bannister, Kyle Brickhouse, David Williams, John Neal Calhoun, Kip Browning and David Gamble. Honorary pallbearers are Noel Harvey, Vic Bannister, Robert Townsend, Michael Gamble, David Calhoun, James Calhoun, Matt Embry, Larry Gurley, Rex Gurley, Ricky Gurley, Terry Gurley, Tom Williams, Charles LaTaste, Allen Carden, Bobby Watts, Bob Tucker, Ray Fellenbaum, Lamar Brickhouse, Dick Waters, and Alfred ìBobbyî Cosper. Gertrude Inez Gurley McClintock was born on Sept. 21, 1925 in Talladega County, Ala. She graduated from Talladega High School in 1945 and attended business school in Anniston. Later she took undergraduate studies at Rollins College, Bthe Revard Campus, Fla. She also studied Contract Law, Negotiations and Contract Administration. Gertrude met Willie Neal ìBillî McClintock after he served in World War II on a chance meeting at Beckís CafÈ in Talladega. They married on June 17, 1947. She initially worked as a bookkeeper at Goldbergís Department store before being employed at Anniston Army Depot. Then, after the family moved to Cocoa Beach, she became a Procurement Officer for the John F. Kennedy Space Center. Her career at NASA spanned from the last of the Mercury missions to the Space Shuttle. She received numerous awards from NASA including ìManned Flight Launch Honoreeî and ìManned Flight Awareness Honoreeî. She was a member of the United States Space Pioneers. The NASA Alumni Association and the National Organization for Women. When they moved to Florida in 1961, they helped found the Cape Canaveral Baptist Mission and are long time members of the First Baptist Church of Cocoa Beach. She taught Sunday schools and church youth groups in Alabama and Florida throughout her life. Gertrude was a member of the group that started the Cocoa Beach Christian School and served on its school board for many years. She loved to read and enjoyed traveling in the United States, Canada, Europe, the Middle East visiting the Holy Lands three times. She loved her husband, her extended family and she loved the Lord. In her life she exemplified the biblical ìvirtuous womanî.

GOODWATER — Funeral service for Mr. Ervin J. Odum, 61, is Nov. 15, 2 p.m. at Pleasant Home Baptist Church. Armour's Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
