Of special note: Talladega County Sheriff's Office

05-08-2008

For law enforcement officers, recovering stolen property and putting the thieves behind bars is just another day on the job.

But for the victims of the crimes who get their belongings back and other residents in the area, such busts are much more: they give us a sense of security in our communities and peace of mind in our homes and businesses.

That’s exactly what has happened over the past week, when the Talladega Sheriff’s Department made three arrests and recovered thousands of dollars worth (four truckloads) of stolen property — most of which they believe came from the Alpine and Stemley areas.

Thanks to the dedication of local law officers, residents in those communities are that much safer and their property that much more secure.

We join them in expressing our gratitude to the Sheriff’s Department for a job well done.
