Tip of the hat: Red Cross efforts

07-04-2008

Whenever there is a disaster, Red Cross is there to help those in need.

Whether it’s a major event, like Hurricane Katrina, the recent floods in the heartland of American or raging wildfires in California, or a small, personal disaster, like when your house burns down, this organization steps in when help is needed most.

And that only the tip of the iceberg — the Red Cross is also responsible for everything from holding blood drives to aiding our soldiers and their families.

But all of this requires money and other resources. The recent floods and fires have stretched the Red Cross’ resources to the limits – and donations are barely trickling in.

We encourage everyone in Talladega and St. Clair counties to lend a hand and give what they can to support our Red Cross organizations. It’s time to return the favor and help those who are so ready to help us in times of need.
