Tip of the hat: PCHS Amateur Radio Program

07-17-2008

Thanks to a decision by the Pell City Board of Education, PCHS will be the first school in Alabama to offer a new Amateur Radio Program.

The school will even get its own radio tower installed.

This is just one more offering to help broaden the education for our students and open more doors for them down the road.

We applaud the board for its decision and also appreciate the Coosa Valley Ham Radio Association, American Radio Relay League and National Association of Amateur Radio Operators for sponsoring the event.

We also express our gratitude to the Trotter Foundation, AARL and the state for helping fund the venture.

It took a lot of people working together to make this happen and is just one more example of what those efforts can mean to the Pell City School System and the students it serves.
