Of special note: Doggie Day Sept. 6

For the sixth year in a row, the Animal Rescue Foundation in Sylacauga will be holding its “Doggie Day,” a fundraiser to benefit the efforts of the Foundation. There will be plenty of fun and games for the whole family, including the four-legged members, and contests will crown the cutest, the ugliest, best dressed, best trick performer, the worst bad breath and even an owner look-alike. It’s all in fun for a good cause, and we encourage an impressive turnout at the Sylacauga Animal Shelter on Shelter Lane from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 6. It’s a day to show support and raise awareness and funds, and it’s a day pet lovers won’t want to miss.
