With some stipulations attached about how the project is paid for, the city of Talladega has given a tentative green light to Councilman Eddie Tucker’s plans for the Knoxville Family Life Center.Though the city does not have the money to build the facility, proponents are hoping to find funding through outside sources such as grants for the project.
Tucker and other council members are looking for ways to use the new center — everything from drug and alcohol rehabilitation (something that is sorely needed in our city) to academic programs to counseling services for things like life skills and anger management.
It’s a lofty goal and one we hope the council and community can work together on, to make a reality.
It’s projects like these that directly affect the quality of life for the citizens living here.
