Of special note: Red Cross deserves support

08-28-2008

The Talladega Red Cross is just coming off a fundraiser that, according to director Pat Miller, should bring in around $1,000.

While any amount of money helps the organization, that number falls well short of what should have come in.

The Red Cross is there anytime anybody needs it — in times of disaster, after a fire, during severe weather, even when a loved-one in the military is away at war.

In fact, local Red Cross chapters are already gearing up in case Hurricane Gustav, which is currently on track to hit the northern Gulf Coast, affects Alabama.

The Red Cross is always willing to help; now it’s important that citizens in our communities return the favor. We strongly encourage everyone to support the Red Cross in any way they can.
