Talladega County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for two metro jail inmates who managed to get a corrections officer’s keys and drive off in his truck early this morning.

According to Chief Deputy Jimmy Kilgore, the first inmate is Robert Edwin Pike, 67, of Sylacauga. Pike is a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 196 pounds. He has blue eyes and gray hair. Pike was being held on a charge of manufacture of a controlled substance.

Jeremy Allen Bryant, also of Sylacauga, was being held on a forgery charge. He is 6 feet tall, weighs 255 pounds and has hazel eyes and brown hair.

The vehicle they drove off in is a gray 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 four-door pickup truck with the Alabama license plate 17A95A0.

The two inmates were trustys who fled from their work detail sometime after 4:30 a.m., Kilgore said. Neither is considered particularly dangerous. Investigators already were looking into various leads and possible destinations this morning.

Anyone with information on the escapees should contact the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office at 256-362-6117.
