Merry Ann Floyd, 53, of Childersburg was arrested without incident Tuesday afternoon, according to Talladega Police Chief Alan Watson.
Floyd is accused of stealing $37,403 from her employer, attorney Jake Montgomery, between May 2007 and July 2010. Bond was set on her arrest warrant at $25,000.
The warrant was signed by Talladega County Circuit Clerk Clarence Haynes.
Talladega Police Detective Doug Whaley was the primary investigator
Theft of property in the first degree is a Class B felony in Alabama, punishable upon conviction by two to 20 years in prison.
Watson said the warrant and arrest report did not explain how Floyd took the money.
