TALLADEGA COUNTY — Details were sketchy Wednesday afternoon about a shooting on Renfroe Road.

Talladega County Sheriff’s Department Capt. Bill Kennedy withheld the name of a 46-year-old woman who was struck in the stomach by buckshot pellets from a shotgun. The identity of the shooter is not known.

Authorities were called to the victim’s residence where the shooting took place at around 2:30 p.m.

The victim was being treated late Wednesday afternoon in the emergency room at Citizens Baptist Medical Center.

“We’re still interviewing witnesses,” Kennedy said. “At this time, this case is ongoing. If anyone knows anything, please call us.”

Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Talladega County Sheriff’s Investigation Division at 256-761-2141.
