St. Clair County Coroner Dennis Russell said Michael Allen King, 40, of Pell City, a passenger in one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 8:15 a.m.
The driver of the vehicle King was a passenger in was taken by LifeSaver helicopter to an area hospital and a person in the other vehicle was taken to an area hospital by ambulance, Russell said.
