Ask anybody in close-knit neighborhoods across our area and those residents will tell you that sense of community spirit makes their areas better places to live.

Fostering that spirit was part of the impetus for Michelle Seay to organize the Pine Harbor Independence Day 5K Run and Kids Bike Parade.

We applaud Seay for coming up with the idea and working to make it a reality. Around 100 people took part in the festivities.

It was not only a great way to bring the community closer together, such gatherings are affordable ways for residents to celebrate and have fun without cutting into already tight family budgets.
