Internet service is down, and because the stamps and money order area uses an online system to process money, it was forced to close and direct customers to other post office locations. The office is still delivering and receiving mail on its regular schedule, however.
“We’ve been working on getting our Internet back up for the last couple days,” said customer service supervisor Derrick Strickland. “We can’t say for certain when it will be fixed, but until then, customers can take care of their business at the nearest offices in Childersburg or Sycamore.”
Strickland said their issues are not because of Monday’s shut down of certain Internet servers by the FBI.
“We’ve been having problems for a couple of weeks now,” he said.
