A tractor trailer traveling south on Alabama 235 (Plant Road) hauling wood chips flipped spilling its load along the highway shoulder Tuesday around 10:45 a.m.. The accident occurred across from Resolute Forest Products in Childersburg.

The driver was en route to make a delivery to Resolute when apparently the driver drifted onto the shoulder of the highway and struck a culvert. Apparently the load shifted and the trailer flipped, possibly totaling both trailer and truck, a Heritage Freight, a spokesman said.

Childersburg Police Lt. Tommy Wallace said the driver didn’t appear to have any significant injuries and was transported by Childersburg Fire and Rescue to Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga for evaluation. The accident remains under investigation. Mark Ledbetter/The Daily Home
