Work release escapee back in custody

A Montgomery County inmate is back in custody after escaping while working in Pell City with the Childersburg Work Release Center.

Jeffery Howard Urquhart turned himself into Pell City police Monday afternoon after he went missing from his job site around 10:20 p.m. on June 10, the Alabama Department of Corrections reported.

Urquhart is serving a three-year sentence for burglary and theft of property. His sentence expiration date is set for Oct. 4, 2013. No parole date is currently scheduled.
