CENTRE — Jacksonville (11-0) rolled to a win in its area opener, beating Cherokee County 25-18, 25-14, 25-17. Leading players were Elizabeth Neisler with 15 kills ad six blocks; Taylor Palmer with 10 kills and three blocks; Caroline Neisler with nine kills, and Meagan Cabrer with 30 assists and three aces.

Jacksonville will play Wellborn and Donoho at Donoho on Monday.

• At Pleasant Valley, the Raiders defeated Spring Garden 25-5, 25-6, 25-10.

The Raiders (8-4) play Oxford on Saturday.

• In Gadsden, Jacksonville Christian defeated Coosa Christian 25-7, 25-16, then defeated Asbury 25-15, 25-13.

Chelsea Smith had six aces on the night and Katy Miller had five. Lindsey Huggins had six kills and Miller had five.

JCA (3-2) hosts Victory Christian and Sacred Heart on Tuesday.

• At Faith Christian, the Lions defeated Weaver 25-15, 18-25, 15-12, and then beat Sacred Heart 25-22, 25-14.

Bobbie Gray had eight aces and nine kills on the night. Chelsea Robinson had 16 assists and Gracie Huie had four blocks and four kills.

Faith Christian (6-2) travels to Coosa Christian on Thursday.

In the the final game, Weaver defeated Sacred Heart 25-15, 22-25, 15-9. Sacred Heart's Mary Wackerle had two aces and 11 kills on the night, Maggie Kerper had four aces, seven digs, five kills and 10 assists. Kelsey Fletcher added an ace, Haili Clark had five aces and two digs.

• At Ohatchee, Donoho beat Wellborn 7-25, 25-17, 15-5, then beat Ohatchee 21-25, 25-23, 15-9.

Donoho (5-6) was led by Frances Barber, who had 22 kils, 11 digs and five aces. Kelsy Crawford had 37 assists, eight digs and an ace. Maggie Morgan had 14 digs and two aces.

The Falcons play in the Oxford Invitational tournament this weekend.

Ohatchee beat Wellborn 16-25, 26-24, 15-12. For Wellborn (8-5), Briana Gardner had two blocks, eight kills and two assists; Kayla Shears had two aces, five blocks and two digs; Shelby Perry had 21 assists and one dig; Latoya Ellington had three aces, 17 blocks and 17 kills; Jessica Gardner had 26 assists and two digs, and Sara Hampton had 10 assists and two digs in her first start.

Wellborn will play at Geraldine on Saturday.

• At Alexandria, the Valley Cubs defeated Piedmont 25-17, 18-25, 25-18, 25-20.

Brittany Strott led Piedmont with 29 assists and five blocks. Tara Blanchard added 11 blocks and 12 kills and Raven Prater had five blocks.

Piedmont (8-3) plays in the Oxford Tournament this weekend.

• Oxford picked up a win against Pell City, winning 25-6, 25-7, 25-13. For the Yellow Jackets (10-2), Quinita Jackson had four kills; Jordan McCall had six kills and 14 assists, Brittany Middlebrook had 13 digs; Brooke Vingers had 9 aces, Logan McCall had seven assists and four aces, and Allison Schwyn had six kills. Oxford will host a tournament on Saturday, playing Benjamin Russell at 9 a.m.
