Here is a rundown of all 10 contestants. Sara B. Hutcheson Hutcheson is from Springville and widowed. She has four children, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is a member of Lacey's Spring United Methodist Church where she also serves as music director. She is a member of the American Education Association, Alabama Education Association and Delta Kappa Education Organization. She presently volunteers as director of the Shepherd Center Singers. Opal Yeager Yeager is from Pell City and widowed. She has four children, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is vice-president of the Pell City Senior Center and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where she plays with the dulcimer pickers. She also plays rhythm guitar and sings at different churches, nursing homes and senior centers. Betty Farley Farley is from Springville and widowed. She has five children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is a member of New Hope Church, JBY Dance Club and senior citizens club. She volunteers to sing at nursing homes throughout the area. Mardy Morrison Morrison is from Springville and married to James H. Morrison. She has three children and eight grandchildren. She is a member of First Baptist Church Springville where she sings in the choir and is a soloist. She is also a leader in the Awana program for children. Shirley Cummings Cummings is from Odenville and married to Clyde Cummings, She has one step-daughter and one step-grandchild. She is a member of the Coosa Valley Saddle Club and Odenville Senior Center. She volunteers her time often for anything needing to be done. Ethel Seals Seals is from Odenville and married to Arnold Seals. She has four children, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is a member of the Odenville Senior Center, Sportsman's Club and American Legion Auxiliary. Mary Nell Roberts Roberts is from Pell City and married to Lowell Roberts. She has three children, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She does volunteer work for school projects, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. Jimmie Sue Smith Smith is from Springville and widowed. She has four children, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is a member of the Odenville Senior Center, Son Shine Club, Cosmetology Association and Home Demonstration Club. She also volunteers with the Springville Volunteer Fire Department. Beverly June Smith Smith is from Leeds and widowed. She has two children, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is a member of the Odenville Senior Center where she serves as program director. She is also a member of the Leeds Art Center and St. Teresa Catholic Church in Leeds. She volunteers taking neighbors and friends to doctor appointments or shopping. Jean Garner Garner is from Moody and married to Bobby Garner. She has 11 children and eight grandchildren. She is a member of the Church of God in Moody. Last year's Ms. Senior St. Clair County, Rosa Sentenn, is this year's pageant director. Sentenn said all 10 ladies are wonderful and have worked extremely hard over the past several weeks. "In my opinion, they are all winners," Sentenn said. "These ladies range in age from 60 to 78 and they are all just so beautiful. All of the entertainment will be outstanding. I also appreciate each and everyone who had a part in helping sponsor this pageant." The Master and Mistress of Ceremonies will be Pell City Mayor Adam Stocks and former St. Clair County Schools Superintendent Marie Manning. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at the door. Refreshments will be served following the pageant. |
