When the St. Clair County School System needed a calming influence, a person they could depend on as a leader, Danny Butler stepped in as interim superintendent. With a superintendent departing unexpectedly months ago, the board knew it needed to get just the right person to bridge the leadership gap until the new superintendent would take the reins. They found it in Butler.
Over the past months, he has led the school system with the ease of a veteran who knows his stuff, and the system is a better place because of his leadership.
Newly elected Superintendent Jenny Seals now comes in as superintendent for the next four years, and she no doubt will benefit from the groundwork Butler laid for the future.
He was more than an interim, he was a healer and a planner, and the system moved forward during his temporary tenure.
We salute Butler for all he has done for the system. His service to this county won’t soon be forgotten.
