After winning their first six games of the season, the Moody Blue Devils have lost three straight games against Anniston, Talladega and Ashville to fall to 6-3.Talladega 80, Moody 65
The Blue Devils ran into a tough, fast-tempo Talladega Tiger team that scored 80 points in an 80-65 rout. The Tigers led from beginning to end as they were up 16-10 after one, 44-29 at the break and 61-56 after three periods.
For Moody, Bradley Seals had a double-double as he pumped in 11 points and snatched 10 rebounds. Malik Major was the leading scorer for the Blue Devils as he scored 26 points. Marcus Hutchins netted nine points and dished out nine assists, while Bret Owens chipped in seven points and had five steals. Brandon Adair totaled five points while Nick Talley added four points. Trey Brasher finished the game with two points.
Ashville 61, Moody 39
After a close first half, the Blue Devils failed to show up in the second half and lost to the Bulldogs 61-39.
Moody led 10-9 after the first quarter. Seals had grabbed seven first-quarter rebounds. Ashville led the game 22-21 at intermission, and it was all downhill in the second half for Moody. They were outscored 39-18 and lost the game 61-39.
Talley was the only Blue Devil player in double figures as he scored 10 points. Bret Owens had five points, while Hutchins and Major had five points each. Seals netted four points and finished with 11 boards. Bryan Hamby, Brasher, Adair and Jordan Katsarakis scored two points each.
It was not a good shooting night for the Blue Devils as they hit only 14-of-41 from the field.
