The St. Clair County Lady Saints fell to 6-8 on the season after losing to Moody and Leeds last week on the road.Moody 38, SCCHS 33
The Lady Saints fell one game under .500 at 6-7 with a 38-33 loss at Moody.
The Lady Blue Devils took a slim 14-13 lead into the locker room at halftime. Early in the third quarter, the two teams were tied 17-17 before Moody went on a 6-0 run to open up a 23-17 lead. The score at the end of the third quarter was 26-21. Both teams scored 12 points each in the fourth period to make the final score 38-33.
Ashley Wilkerson led Moody with 10 points. Jessica Spitzer totaled eight points while Sha Vandergrift and Tiffany Evans netted seven points each. Lindsay Davis scored six points.
Jennifer Moore was the leading scorer for SCCHS as she scored 11 points. Kreshala Mickens netted nine points while Ashley Edwards contributed six points. Shemisha Watkins scored three points while Courtney Witcher and Brianna Humphrey had two points each.
Leeds 45, SCCHS 39
The next night, SCCHS lost to the Leeds Green Wave 45-39. A 12-2 run in the first quarter by the Lady Saints gave them a 12-8 lead after the first quarter. SCCHS opened a 16-8 lead in the second quarter and when Mickens drilled a trey halfway through the second stanza, their lead was 20-11. Then something went wrong for the Lady Saints. They went on a scoring drought while Leeds was scoring 21 straight points. That made the score 32-20 in favor of the Green Wave.
SCCHS was unable to catch back up and lost the game 45-39.
Mickens scored 23 points to lead the Lady Saints while Sierra Hardrick had six points.
