The season was one most players were looking at as a chance to make a deep run in the playoffs. Losses to two teams late in the season left the Bulldogs out of playoff contention altogether. Winterboro finished the season 7-3 and the talented athletes from the 1A school lead the small schools All-Talladega County Team for 2010.
Running back Curtavius Gray rumbled through many opponents’ defensive line throughout the season, quickly gaining notice around East Central Alabama. He and quarterback Josh Taylor provided a strong running game for the Bulldogs. Both players were named to the first team along with teammates David Turner, Luransa Hardy, Colby Maddox and Maurice Mills. Winterboro coach Adam Fossett took Coach of the Year honors.
The Silent Warriors of Alabama School for the Deaf once again featured a strong stable of speedy running backs as they ran over opponents this season. The Warriors finished with a record of 7-2. Atorie Uduma, Rakeem Grace, Chris Carson, Demetric Snider and Tyler Perry all earned first team honors.
The B.B. Comer Tigers suffered through some growing pains in 2010 with new head coach Anthony Jacks. The Tigers finished the season with a record of 2-8, but look to be able to build in the future with many players coming back next season. Demarcus Samuels and Khari Kelly were two of the go-to players for Comer in 2010. Both were named to the first team as running backs. Joining them were teammates Corey Bradford, Wesley Thrash, Isiah Caldwell, Brody McCoy and Trey Ragland.
The Talladega County Central Fighting Tigers were plagued with injuries in 2010, but a few of their athletes were able to shine once they were healthy. Corey Morris, Cortez Morris, Rory Jackson, Terrell Garrett, Tedarius Wright, Tevin Garrett, Kendarius Swain and Maurice Duncan all earned first team honors.
The Fayetteville Wolves finished the 2010 season with a record of 1-9. Zach McGrady earned first team accolades for the Wolves.
