Lionel James Vincent, 23, of Sylacauga died after sustaining injuries in a single vehicle crash Monday on U.S. 280. The wreck occurred around 3:40 p.m. in the westbound lane near the Talladega County and Coosa County line. According to an Alabama Department of Safety release, the initial investigation indicated Vincent was traveling in a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo when he lost control due to a tire blowout, causing his vehicle to overturn. Speed was also believed to be a factor, and he did not have a seatbelt on. No one else was in the vehicle. Vincent was pronounced dead at Coosa Valley Emergency Room. Talladega County and Coosa County sheriff's departents responded, along with County Line, Hanover, Hollins and Stewartville fire departments. The Alabama State Troopers' investigation is ongoing.
