It’s a poignant story, beautifully told with humor and love.

It’s a story of bonnets and bow ties, memories and superstitions.

Most of all, it’s a story of Southern hospitality and the generous spirit of an Alabama mountain community in the 1970s.

Award-winning actress and story performer, Dolores Hydock will present Footprint on the Sky, Memories of a Chandler Mountain Spring at the Pell City Senior Center Tuesday, April 19 at 10 a.m.

Sponsored by the Pell City Public Library, this program is made possible by a LSTA grant awarded by the Alabama Public Library Service and matching funds provided by the Pell City Library Guild.

The program is free and open to the public.

Hydock has performed throughout the United States at concerts, storytelling festivals, churches, schools, and various other venues.

She currently tours and performs for the Alabama State Council of the Arts and is a speaker for the Alabama Humanities Foundation.

Her five CDs of original stories have received Resource Awards from Storytelling World Magazine.

As an actress, she has performed the one-woman plays “Shirley Valentine,” “Fully Committed,” “Talking Heads” and many others. Originally from Reading, Penn., Hydock lives in Birmingham.
