The driver of a Conn cement truck did not appear to have serious injuries after his truck slid into a ditch on U.S. 280 near Merkle Mountain in Oak Grove Wednesday. The accident, which occurred around 2 p.m., happened after the truck had a malfunction and shut off, according to a company spokesman at the site of the accident. The driver was taken by ambulance to Coosa Valley Medical Center. Members of the Oak Grove Fire Department and Talladega County Sheriff’s Department also responded. Matt Quillen/The Daily Home
