Zook has been chief of police in Sylacauga for 17 years, worked in the department for 10 years before that and four years with the Talladega County Sheriff’s Department. That’s 31 years in law enforcement and that experience should serve him well in Montgomery as be begins work as law enforcement coordinator for the attorney general.
Zook has been more than police chief in Sylacauga. He has been active in the Chamber of Commerce, the Arts Council, Rotary Club, United Way and other community organizations. That kind of involvement in the civic affairs of a community speak well of Chief Zook and his commitment to the place where he lives.
Sylacauga will miss him. We are confident he will contribute much to the Attorney General’s Office when he starts work there.
