TALLADEGA COUNTY — Talladega County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Gene O. Sharp made an arrest Thursday in Tallapoosa, Ga., recovering about $3,000 worth of stolen farm equipment and tools.

Through their investigation, Sharp and his team located and arrested Stacy Scott Smith, 37, from Randolph County, and figured that Smith had sold the stolen property to someone living in Tallapoosa.

The police report filed Wednesday indicates that somewhere between Monday and Wednesday various farm equipment and tools were stolen from a residence located on the 2000 block of Old School Road in Munford.

The various farm equipment and tools include a 6’x10’ utility trailer, a gas Lincoln welder, an air compressor and an oxy-acetylene torch.

“Good cooperation between the Talladega County Sheriff’s Department and the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department led to an arrest and recovery of property,” Sharp said.

Sharp said the department has obtained a warrant and is in the process of transporting Smith to the Talladega County Jail.
