Our hats are off to Sheroderick Smith, who is currently wearing three hats of his own.

Smith is a teacher at Winterboro High School and is head coach of both the varsity boys’ Bulldogs basketball team and the girls’ Lady Bulldogs basketball team — and both teams have made it past the Area Championships to the post-season in this year’s Alabama High School Athletic Association 1A play.

The girls’ team broke last year’s record for wins with a 19-8 record with their Area Championship win and host Jefferson Christian Thursday night in the sub-regional game.

The boys were runner-ups and travel to Parkway Christian Friday.

Smith isn’t getting much sleep right now, but says there will be time for that after season is over.

It’s a remarkable achievement, and we congratulate Smith, his players, and the entire Winterboro family on their success.
