“The police department received a call Thursday night to a residence on Shelton Shores Drive for a welfare check,” Lincoln Police Chief Travis McGrady said. “When an officer made entry, he discovered the bodies of a husband and wife.”
McGrady said the wife appeared to have been killed while sleeping.
“It appears the husband died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” he said.
McGrady said both bodies were transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery.
“The names are not released yet pending notification of next of kin,” he said.
The incident is under investigation by the Lincoln Police Department.
