LINCOLN — The upcoming Job Fair is seeking more participants.

“If you have a job opening, large or small, please come and participate,” said Roben Duncan, director of the Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department.

The Lincoln Job Fair is 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 1, at the Lincoln City Center (old Lincoln High School gym). The event is hosted by the city and the Greater Talladega Area Chamber of Commerce.

“The Lincoln Job Fair is free to vendors and attendees,” Duncan said.

She said vendors signed up to participate so far include Elwood Staffing, the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, Onin Staffing, TMS and the Federal Correctional Institute.

“Vendors are provided a 10-by-10-foot area with one 6-foot table and two chairs,” she said. “The setup time is from 8-10 a.m. the day of the event. We would like everyone ready by 10:30 a.m.”

Duncan said the vendor participation deadline is July 30. Participation forms should be turned in to Parks and Recreation, Sue Jones, 205-763-3013; or Roben Duncan, P.O. Box 172, Lincoln, Alabama 35096; or lprd@centurytel.net; or fax 205-763-1562.

Duncan said this is the second Lincoln Job Fair this year.

“The first job fair was held in March and was very successful,” she said. “We had people lined up and waiting as soon as we opened the doors.”

Duncan said approximately 25 vendors and 200 people attended the job fair in March, coming from Lincoln, Munford, Talladega, Sylacauga, Pell City, Anniston, Cropwell, Lineville, Wellington, Oxford and Eastaboga.

She said both vendors and attendees gave positive feedback about the March job fair.

“This is a great opportunity to bring people looking for work together with businesses that are hiring,” she said.
