A 5 p.m. public hearing preceded Monday night’s Talladega County Commission meeting.
The commission approved Fayetteville Water Authority’s application to amend the articles of incorporation to consolidate with Ida Station Water District and a transfer agreement.
The commission also approved Ida Station Water District’s application to dissolve and a transfer agreement.
In other business, the commission:
• Approved a request from attorney Barry Staples to refinance existing loans for a Rainbow Omega refinancing and financing project.
• Awarded bids for custodial supplies to McCleskey Brothers, inc. for a total of $419.64.
• Approved all conference and training requests.
• Approved all personnel changes.
• Approved expenditures for the month at $1,507,240.
The commission announced municipal run-off elections are today.

Garbage clean-up day is Saturday, Oct. 13, at the old post office parking lot in downtown Munford from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. sponsored by Commissioner Jackie Swinford.
The public hearing regarding the relocation of Shelvin Rock Road is 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, in the commission courtroom.
The Rushing Springs District Association & Quality of Life Health Services, Inc. will host “Improve your Health from the Inside Out” on Saturday, Nov. 3. Registration will take place from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. There will be free blood sugar, blood pressure, and body mass index screenings in addition to an empowerment walk and low-impact exercises. The 2010 Census reported changes in population within the areas of Talladega County. The shift in population brought about changes in voter representation by county commissioners. The new districts will be implemented on the ballots in the 2012 general election.
The next commission meeting is at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22.
