An open house of the new 31-classroom wing at Sylacauga High School is Tuesday at 6 p.m. The public is invited to view the school’s state-of-the-art science, computer and consumer science labs as well as other classrooms and updates in the addition. Principal Matt Hubbard previously said open houses are always well-attended, but they are hoping for higher participation for the public to celebrate the opening of the addition. Hubbard said the new wing is “going to have a positive impact on the learning environment, teacher and student morale, any contributing factor that would apply to the atmosphere that you want to create, I think we’re going to experience all of that.”
A $2.5 million renovation project on the front entrance of the high school begins soon with two more renovation phases to follow.
