The incident occurred Sunday evening in front of the victim’s home, Busby said. The victim told investigators that he was outside working on his car stereo at the time.
He then saw a white car, possibly either a Ford Crown Victoria or a Mercury Grand Marquis, pull up next to him and fire three shots into his vehicle before driving off.
The victim said he did not initially realize that one of the shots had struck him in the shoulder, Busby said. He was transported to the emergency room of Citizens Baptist Medical Center in Talladega, and later transferred to University Hospital in Birmingham with non-life-threatening injuries. Busby said he had been discharged by Monday afternoon, and was not being particularly cooperative.
Few further details of the incident were available Monday afternoon.
