CVA suffered another tough loss this week, falling to Fort Dale 45-38 in a game that came down to the last part of the fourth quarter.
Fort Dale got on the board first with a 7-0 lead.
CVA answered when Zack Spratlin connected with Trey DuBose for a passing touchdown to make it 7-7.
Fort Dale responded with a touchdown to make it 14-7.
Once again, the Rebels evened the score with a 64-yard rushing touchdown by Niko Teofilo to put the score at 14-14.
Fort Dale scored again to give them a 21-14 lead.
The Rebels marched down the field, but Teofilo fumbled the ball in the end zone and Fort Dale recovered the ball and returned it for a touchdown to extend their lead to 28-14.
They scored again to make it 35-14, but the Rebels stayed in it. Teofilo scored on an 8-yard rushing touchdown and Bradley Carroll got a rushing touchdown, his from 18 yards out. Spratlin connected with Blake Gossett for a 54-yard passing touchdown. Zach Sharp nailed a 45-yard field goal with only four minutes remaining in the game.
The team carried out a well-executed onside kick but when the big pile cleared, Fort Dale was awarded possession of the ball and won the game.
