Brantavious Lashan Marizette, 30, was arrested at Benny’s Mini-Mart at Howard and West Streets in Talladega. Murray said his bond was set on the warrant at $40,000.
Marizette is charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, specifically crack cocaine. Murray pointed out that Marizette is not accused of actually selling drugs at the location where he was arrested, merely that he happened to be there when the warrant was executed.
Unlawful distribution of a controlled substance is a Class B felony in Alabama, punishable upon conviction by two to 20 years in prison.
