Weather permitting, state troopers will conduct rolling roadblocks to transition traffic for lane closures on I-20 West between mile markers 147 and 156 between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., Friday.
The work is part of ALDOT's "Progress 20" program, to widen the last two-lane portion of the interstate between Moody and Pell City. Additional ongoing projects include Progress 20 in Calhoun, Cleburne, Jefferson, and Talladega counties, and Progress 59 in DeKalb County.
A reduced speed limit of 45 mph is in effect throughout the work zone. Motorists are urged to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work-zone speed limits and other work-zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. State troopers will control traffic and strictly enforce speed limits.
